Health and safety on expedition to Morocco
Morocco is an exciting expedition destination, but like all expeditions there are health and safety guidelines that must be followed to make sure you get the most out of your trip.
Morocco is generally considered a Malaria-free destination but you should still use insect repellent regularly in order to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes. If you do experience any unusual symptoms after being bitten by a mosquito you must inform your Expedition Leader.
Professional health advice for Morocco
You should also visit your doctor approximately 3 weeks before leaving for your expedition in Morocco. You are likely to need typhoid and Hepatitis A vaccinations. It is also recommended that you make sure your tetanus and polio vaccinations are up to date in order to promote the best possible health and safety whilst on expedition in Morocco.
We advise you to drink only bottled water and avoid foods from unlicensed food outlets. Food regulations in Morocco are very different to those in the UK and eating or drinking the wrong thing may pose a risk to your health and safety. The best way to stay safe is to only eat and drink from sources recommended by your Expedition Leader. If you are ever unsure about whether to eat or drink something on expedition check with your Expedition Leader.
If at any point you feel as though there is some risk to your health and safety during your expedition in Morocco you must report it to your Expedition Leader who will be qualified to deal with any risks.
