Health and safety on expedition to Kenya
To make sure you get everything you can out of your expedition to Kenya, it’s important to follow the necessary health and safety guidelines. Visit a doctor approximately 4 weeks before departure to discuss your medical needs.
The major vaccinations recommended for expeditions in Kenya are Hepatitus A, Hepatitus B, typhoid, yellow fever and polio. Depending on your age and physical circumstances your doctor might also recommend a rabies or Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) jab in order to ensure health and safety throughout your expedition.

To further ensure health and safety during your time in Kenya your doctor may prescribe antimalarial drugs to minimise the risk of Malaria.
Should you be bitten by a mosquito or should you experience any unusual symptoms you must report these occurrences immediately to your Expedition Leader. If you have contracted any kind of infection or disease it is important to treat it quickly so that any pain and disruption to your expedition can be minimised.
It is recommended that you only drink bottled or sterilised water during your expedition in Kenya. You should also avoid purchasing food from any unlicensed outlet as this can cause extreme digestive discomfort. If at any point you are unsure about something you are going to eat or drink seek advice from your Expedition Leader who will be able to help you.
