Before you go on expedition...

This quick step by step guide will give you an overview of what you need to do to join an expedition with World Challenge.

1. Application
   
   You can sign up any time until 60 days before departure, although the sooner you sign up the better as this will give you more time to prepare.
    
2. Expedition members’ site login
   
   When you sign up you will receive login details to your own member’s website which has loads of fundraising ideas and travel advice. You can also contact your team members through the notice board and manage your booking.
    
3. Training
   
   Training Expedition (TE): This course is where you will learn the practical skills that you will need on expedition and meet the rest of your expedition team. Parents will also be invited to attend a Parent’s Meeting. Find out more about the overseas training expedition. Please note that this course is only applicable to those on a 3 or 4 week expedition.
   
   Expedition Briefing Meeting: This one day meeting at our office in High Wycombe is a chance for the challengers and their parent’s to meet, run through the itinerary, and bond as a team. Please note that this course is only applicable to those on an expedition 2 weeks or less.
    
4. Build-up day
   
   This is the first part of your expedition and is the day before your flight (or day of your flight if you have an evening flight). It’s an opportunity for the team to get together, check everything and for your leader to talk you through expedition life.
    
5. You’re now ready to head off on expedition!
