Are you savvy about expedition safety?!

Although we’ve done our best to provide you with all the safety advice we can, it’s important to make sure you are completely safety savvy before you start your expedition. To ensure you are safety savvy enough make sure you can answer all of the following questions about your expedition and if you can’t don’t hesitate to contact us or seek advice from your doctor.

Safety savvy questions 

• Do I need any vaccinations or malaria prevention medication? Malaria advice
• What are the most prominent local diseases?
• What can I do to avoid or prevent being ill whilst on expedition?
• Is it safe to drink the water?
• Are there any foods I should avoid?
• Are there any insects I should be worried about?
• What basic medical supplies do I need to take with me?

If you can answer all of these questions about your destination then you are well on your way to being savvy about expedition safety. If you still have questions about your expedition however you should contact World Challenge or an appropriate health care professional. Being safety savvy means making sure you have all the advice you need to keep yourself 100% safe 100% of the time. You will know your own safety needs better than anyone else and therefore if you have any special safety requirements whilst you are on your expedition it is important to let World Challenge know so we can stay savvy about your safety too.

Remember to stay safety savvy whilst on your expedition and to follow all instructions given to you by your Expedition Leader. Nobody is more safety savvy than them; follow their instructions to make sure you stay safe in your new environment.
