Take a look at the sample itinerary details of the Tanzania expedition below.
Main trekking phase in Tanzania
Mt.Kilimanjaro: Africa’s highest mountain (5895m) is a challenging objective, achievable by only a determined team. We will climb the Marangu Route of Kilimanjaro, where the accommodation will be in huts, and the team will be accompanied by experienced guides and porters.
Community project options
Alongside the physical challenge of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro there is also the chance to work on a community project. Previous teams have been able to work on many fulfilling projects that have been greatly appreciated by the local communities; including helping to provide a water supply to a primary school, renovating a kitchen and painting classrooms.
The project is also a great chance to interact on a more personal level with the local people and experience first hand a different way of life and the vibrant culture of Tanzania.
Rest and relaxation
Tanzania is famous for its white sandy beaches and laid-back atmosphere. Teams may be able to snorkel and swim in the Indian Ocean whilst relaxing in coastal towns such as Pangani.
In Tanzania there is an optional extra for a safari. These include the incredible Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. Most game reserves offer a good chance of seeing some of the African "Big Five" - i.e. elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo, in addition to several hundred other species.
